Skills for People

Tourism Partnership North Wales has a Strategic Objective, providing an outstanding experience from arrival to departure, making it a delight to spend time in North Wales.

To this end, it is a key priority, to ensure skilled people and investment in product excellence as skilled people and high quality facilities are the backbone of any quality tourism establishment or destination.

Specifically the partnerships aim is to assist:

  • Develop profitable businesses run by enterprising managers with a skilled and motivated workforce.

To achieve said aim the partnerships activity includes the co-ordination of a People Development Forum to act as a sounding board on visitor economy labour supply, skills development issues and training take-up within the region.

Additionally this forum aims to influence training providers, business support agencies and colleges to understand and respond to the particular needs of the tourism sector within the region. The forum also works with partners to improve the image of tourism as an employer.

In order to promote a learning culture within the tourism and wider visitor economy of North Wales, the partnership is able to:

  • Signpost what is on offer in terms of training & business support
  • Provide advice
  • Disseminate good practice and publicise success stories
  • Undertake the organisation of short sharp hits of learning (sometimes in partnership) whereby gaps exists
